Everybody has a distinct unique swimwear style, just like everyone has a distinct personal style when it comes to their clothing. I’ve always tended to favor simpler, more understated swimwear. I discover that my swimwear style is similar to my regular wardrobe, which consists of simple white t-shirts and denim. My bikinis don’t have any outrageous decorations, striking colors or motifs, or definitely any trendy cuts. I continue to wear the minimalist bikini, which is what I believe to be the basic style.
Minimal Bikini Swimsuits
Triangle Swimsuits
My default fashion, which genuinely never, ever goes out of style. The triangle-shaped bikini. They are very basic, classy, and attractive. These look great when worn with a real string bikini bottom, too. They are simple, have few tan lines, and are timeless.
Good American, Aerie, and COS are a few favorite swimwear companies that always provide a wonderful classic triangle bikini. The one on the left is sage green from Iris & Ink and costs less than $100. Shop for it below.
Balconette or Demi Bikinis
The look I wear the most and in which I feel most seductive. These are my favorite because they are essentially simply bras. So, give your support! This may be a better option for support if your chest is larger than a triangle. They are also, in my opinion, incredibly flattering. Furthermore, because it is really just a bra, they may go from the beach to wherever you are going with ease. The lovely one on the left is from CUUP, a brand I haven’t tried but am coveting in every hue. It also has a variety of minimalist, attractive bottom styles.
My favorite and most-worn swimsuits are my L*Space Camellia underwire swimsuit and my Aerie underwire balconette bikinis. I have it in several colors it’s that good.
Bandeau Bikinis
The fact that bandeau bikinis occasionally feature cute accents is one of my favorite things about them. With the design element in the bandeau’s middle, they can feel slightly more upscale while still being simple. Some bandeaus are joined by a lovely bow or ring accent, like the one from J.Crew on the left, while others are just a straight strip of cloth. It has a very particular silhouette that, once more, is timeless.
Scoop Neck Bikinis
A straightforward scoop neck can be a terrific way to provide a little extra support and coverage to a bikini. a slim style that suits both larger and smaller busts. J.Crew’s blue ribbed scoop neck bikini is so elegant and straightforward. I adore the texture and the deep, rich color. Additionally, Everlane now has a fantastic new swimwear collection with a scoop neck style.
Minimal One Piece Swimsuits
Okay, so it’s not a bikini, but it’s still necessary. In my opinion, it’s essential, especially if you intend to travel (my go-to tip here). In my opinion, a simple one-piece swimsuit is a requirement. A simple one-piece with a halter or simple slender straps is essential for a minimal one-piece since I prefer to keep my tan lines under control. You’ll be able to wear this for many years to come if you stick to plain colors. I adore my $30 aerie bikini, but I’m also crushing on this understated one from COS.
